Lifeline is a federal program that provides a monthly discount of $7.25 for phone or $10 for internet service to eligible low-income households. Lifeline is limited to one benefit per household.
How to qualify for a Lifeline Program discount
You must participate in at least one of the following programs to be eligible for a Lifeline Program discount:
Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP)
Supplemental Security Income (SSI)
Federal Public Housing Assistance (FPHA)
Veterans Pension and Survivors Benefit
Tribal Programs (and live on federally-recognized Tribal lands)

The Lifeline benefit expires after 12 months. To renew a Lifeline benefit, the Universal Service Administrative Company (USAC) will send you a notice to recertify.
