The RISE Project is an initiative by Firefly Fiber BroadbandSM, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Central Virginia Electric Cooperative (CVEC), to provide internet access to all underserved homes and businesses in 13 counties in Central Virginia. Firefly offers gigabit-speed internet via fiber to the premise that is reliable and affordable. Read more about the RISE Project.

The Firefly RISE project is designed to ensure every underserved location in Appomattox County has access to broadband connectivity. The work is funded in part by Appomattox County, and in collaboration with the Commonwealth of Virginia’s Telecommunications Initiative.
